Bailey in the Bjorn

We took Bailey for a walk tonight.  We walked to the store and got some cookies.  They make some good M&M cookies at Stop & Shop.  Plus it was a good destination.  Bailey did well facing forward in her Baby Bjorn.  She holds her head up really well.  The video is of us getting her ready.  She does something really funny.  Watch the video to find out what.

Long Lost Friends!

We took a walk over to the Parker's last weekend to visit 4 1/2 month-old Charlotte and her parents. TJ initially put their hands together, but later on, Charlotte grabbed Bailey's hand and held on like they were long lost friends! Look at the way they are looking at each other!

After that we walked over to Benny's, a new hot dog/hamburger joint in town. It tasted pretty good to me, as I haven't had a hot dog since before being pregnant.

Bailey just covered Sooz with spit up!

Just sitting here on the couch with my wife and daughter.  Bailey only ate for about 4 minutes.  Then decided to yak it all up onto Susie.  It was a lot!

Hiking in Stamford

Today we went on a great little hike with Bailey. We have gone on many walks before, but this was Bailey's first official hike. We went to Mianus Park in Stamford. It is a nature preserve with a small river flowing through it. It was a nice morning. We put Bailey in her Baby Bjorn and were out for about an hour. She loved it. She looked around a lot and stayed awake almost the whole time. We got some great pictures too. Check them out in our picasa web album.

Jenn Seeley came to town

We had the pleasure of seeing Jenn Seeley. She had a conference in Washington D.C. and took the train up for a short 2 night stay with us before she flew home from NY. Bailey was having a pretty bad weekend though. She was crying with almost every feeding because of her acid reflux. I think that if Jenn was thinking of having any children soon, she may have changed her mind!. A crying baby is the best birth control.

We had a great time with her though. Thanks for visiting us Jenn!

Bottle Feeding

We have started Bailey on about a bottle per day. Susie is pumping now. She does well with the bottle and just chugs it! We have a problem with acid reflux with her, but are managing it by keeping her upright and feeding more often. We took her to the pediatrician to have her checked out and she is still gaining weight. So it is mostly just a challenge for us to deal with crying at feeding time. She is doing better now though.

Playing hookie

I decided to play hookie today and hang out with my wife and baby.  It wasn't a busy day at St. Vinnies, so I don't need to be there.  We just went for  a 45 minute walk in Scalzi park.  Bailey slept the whole time.  Now we are home and Bailey is getting ready to get back on the boob.  We have a pediatrician appt later today to discuss vaccinations and a weight check.

Family picture

Here is a picture of the Kemp family on August 2, 2008. Bailey was 3 weeks and 5 days old.

Summer walks

We have had some nice evenings in southwestern Connecticut this week. A few nights ago TJ tried out the snuggly, or Baby Bjorn, and Bailey really liked it. It was a great workout for her developing neck muscles. We went around the "short" block and TJ sure looked cute with a baby on his belly. He said it was weird to have her on his chest with his arms free. I will try it out tomorrow. Last night after an afternoon thunderstorm it cooled right off and we went out for another walk, this time laying Bailey in the stroller. She looked pretty comfy.

Bailey is doing well

Susie and Bailey are doing very well.  It seems like every time I come home from work, Bailey has added a new little fat roll from breast feeding so well.  Susie is a great mom.  She is being a champ when it comes to breast feeding and keeping it up.  It is not easy.
